I've been hooked on Spider Solitaire on Microsoft for ages now...only won once with 2 suits. I think that was a fluke!

Can anyone do it?!

I did it again lastnight...no idea how! Thanks for the tips!

It's very easy to do, just don't be fixated on having all the cards lined up in the same suit. Think ahead

If you are a reasonable solitaire player you can expect to get all the cards out as follows:-

4 Suits = 5%
2 Suits = 25%
1 Suit = 95%

According to my stats, I have won 2 suits 61% of the time I play. My highest score currently is 1348. This is because bonus points are given for certain more complex moves (e.g. when you undo a perfectly good sequence to advance the game). I have several hundred games in the 1200's but only about 20 games in the 1300s.

I prefer 4 suits. I play 100 games and then look at the stats. The average odds of winning are 1 in 4.

Two suits is easy after a little practice. I only have a 12% win with four suits - but just remember to cheat whenever you can. It might involve breaking up a suit but don t give up. Empty spaces are a necessity, and two empty spots gives you more flexibility. It s tempting to play cards in suit; just look ahead to see what is more advantageous. I don t play every hand that is dealt and steer clear of the "end" cards on the deal: kings and aces. If there are three cards of the same number, I don t play that hand.

Twice. But four suits still defeats me.

I'm still working hard on winning games of Freecell, too. I got a streak of 499 before losing one deal, and now I have to start all over again.

Currently, I have a streak of around 234 winners with Spider, 232 of which are 1 suit.

After playing for several years, I've averaged about 1/3 of the time to win.
