I once knew two friends who were mutually attracted to each other, so I told them both separately how they felt about one another. They dated, found out they weren't compatible, and they eventually stopped talking to me. :p

A number of them! I have a knack of appearing in people's lives when they need help or guidance. Basically when they're at thier most lost in some way or another. This is not a problem for me as I enjoy the interraction that this brings and feel that this may be my 'special purpose' (not in a Steve Martin in 'The Jerk' kind of way...).
However, this can lead to people getting a little too attached and rebuking me when I think about myself in some way, losing it at me because they don't have the courage to take it out on the person they're really angry at, building up false frames of reference around me (i.e: not believing I'm quite human) or breaking my heart (foolishness on my part).
Still, I like what I was put here to do and it means I get to interract with people on a level that very few others do. Besides, it could always be worse - I could be William Shatner's maid... : )
