Why on earth do women wear clothes and carry bags adorned with the Playboy bunny?

Playboy may be one of the more reputable men's mags (it has good interviews and is not misogynistic like others), but it's still essentially a brand founded on naked women. How has it managed to convince women to buy products bearing its logo? Is anyone else puzzled as to why women would pay to advertise porn for men?

I don't understand this either, I think perhaps it's to try and attract men, in this kind of scenario:

Man sees woman with playboy symbol on her bag/jewellry etc. and, in this mixed up world of scenario, thinks, "Oh, she likes playboy too, so she won't mind me having a stack of playboys in my wardrobe. Maybe she's a bit like a bunny too".

I'm guessing women and girls think that if they're appealing to men in that way, like some of them pretend to like football etc. they're men will think they're less high maintanence and easier to get on with, as they already have stuff in common. Although how this actually appears to men, I don't know, but I don't think it works like that, somehow.

Short of that, I honestly couldn't say. I don't have any playboy affiliated stuff, what would be the point? And it's become so overused now anyway, it just looks tacky to me.

The only people I see wearing Playboy clothing is trailer trash or women aspiring to be eye candy hookers.

The actual Playboy Bunnies probably don't even parade around in it.

To be honest, I think the only people who wear the Playboy logo are women who don't realize what they're doing, or haven't thought about the real meaning behind the logo. They just see it as a sexy and cute which shows you how dumb they really are....

Why do women, or men for that matter, wear some of the things they do? Because some celeb or sports star does? Because some magazine says its the 'in' thing? Because the 'cool' people do it? Because they're a bunch of sheep? If you can answer this question, you have a great career in advertising, fashion design, or merchandising to look forward to.

Some people think it's cute or funny. I think Playboy is degrading to women. You can be fun, humorous, fashionable and sexy without carrying around a symbol of exploitation.

Because some women take more pride in believing that they somehow exemplify a 'Playmate' of the month than in believing that they're advertising porn for men

well, i rock the playboy bunny with pride, and im a college educated woman. yes, hugh hefner founded the brand on the backs...in this case, breasts of naked women, but if you think about it, a large majority of former playmates and models have moved on to successful careers and become incredible entreprenuers in their own right. i use it to assert myself as a sex symbol...im the bookish type, and if i want to be sexy and let the whole world know im feeling attractive and satisfied with my body ....i feel playboy gear is the best way to showcase that....

i also think it's very degrading to women. it is based on the idea that women were put on this earth to serve and please men which is totally not true. plus its way tacky. but girls do it so guys will want to do them. sad part of it is, is that the guy may want to do her but he wont want an actual relationship because the playboy symbol on anything screams whore and cheap.

they can be idiots who think its happy bunny, but i doubt it. i REFUSE to buy playboy gear, if only they made the design with another animal, i would so buy it. im glad that a male stood up to say it, most others would just stand back and watch. thank you for being a TRUE man.

Because if they wear the bunny logo they think they are just as pretty as the bunny girls themselves.
