To "seeclearlynow," I'd say, your knowledge of the music of the last 50 years is sadly lacking. Paul McCartney wasn't just someone who "knew how to play an instrument." Neither were any of the other Beatles. They were unique in a number of ways, which made them stand out from the crowd of rock artists of the '60s, and later. They took the music of Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers, and others, and wove it into a totally new style, which took the world by storm. As to "Nettie," you're entitled to think whatever you want about Paul McCartney and John Lennon. But Paul's overall musical genius, totally overwhelms John's.

Some of the Beatles classics, attributed as jointly written by Lennon & McCartney, were actually written by Paul McCartney. I'm not a great fan of Macca but IMO he is much more talented than given credit for and easily Johns equal. Actually I preferred Wings ... Jet ! OOhhh Ooooh Oooh ooOh ..... Jet !! Halcyon days :-)

No he is not a genius, only someone who has the ability to write music. Not in the same league as John Lennon. But I loved both the animations and the song though.

not really he just knew hoe to play an instrument and as the 60`s was a huge change of scene in the music direction young people wanted something more to listen to other than the likes of frank Sinatra...etc it was different music that separated them form their parents tastes it was simple lyrics put to a catchy tune played by younger ppl,its the same today isn't it no teenager likes the music their parents listen to my daughter always has something to say when i play my David grey CD and its not compliments..so Paul McCartney no genius just a musician who got lucky!....and so was john lennon...

Yes indeed.
Had it not been for the unfortunate breakup of the Beatles , the fab four would reached further heights, unimaginable.
His solo career is just as great

there was a time when I didn't care much for the guy.some of his stuff I still don't like but,as a person who loved Linda in the way he did and step daughter,I'd have to say i changed the way I use to look at him.I gained a lot of respect for him after hearing the story of his wife as seen through the eyes of his step-daughter who he adopted, the man was willing to give up anything for his wife and kids,ANYTHING!Some men say that but,few mean it.

The reputation that he has, and the talent that he has, do not correspond.
