Set aside a specific time everyday- to read, do homework, and study- with as few interruptions as possible. -Also, it should be fairly quiet so you can concentrate on what your doing. Do ONE assignment at a time (avoid multi-tasking), and turn off your cell phone until you're done. The more effort you put into- keeping these habits, the higher the grades you're going to get.

What helped me get through college was to find a quiet place to study that I associated strictly with studying. I found a nice, quiet corner in the basement of my local library. It is important to have no distractions like television, radio, internet, etc.
As far as actual techniques go, I would begin by reading the chapter. Then I would go back and create an outline of the chapter. After that, I would answer any review or conecpt questions I could find in the book, solutions manuals, or the publisher's website. This was normally enough to have a good understanding of the material. If I still felt uneasy about any of the material, I would just go back and work for problems or review the material again.

Study in a quite place with no distractions like TV. Make a list of all the homework you need to get done for each class and and get to it. It might be a good idea to take short breaks inbetween assignments. Plan out working on essays so you don't have to rush to finish in one night.

Studying in the same place instead of constantly changing places helps. Because the environment helps retrieve the information that you previously have learned and will make the learning process consistent.

study in a quiet place, after studying for an hour be sure to take a break because your brain starts to not want to remember information after longer time periods, spend longer amounts of time on more difficult information and less amount of time on easier information, study somewhere free from distractions and interruptions, study in blocks of time instead of scattered time, plan out your study time to make the most of it, allow time for a snack before studying because you'll remember more if you are starving the entire time you're studying
