You see if a man can get dogs to breed certain characteristics, short stubby legs, long body for the sole purpose of going down animal tunnels for hunting, why is it so hard to contemplate natural selection? If our lives and ability to procreate (have kids to the layman) depended solely on our ability to play basketball, we all would be tall or dead. Agree or Disagree?

Hey Reverend, what are you babbling about? Did you actually call mankind God? Because he can breed a trait into a dog?

Science does not exist in a vacuum, nor without purpose, just because we cannot prove a thing does not disprove its existence. Consider like all scientific theories- they are close approximations of the truth, not an absolute. So for all those clinging tightly to evolution being the whole picture are overlooking the very real possibility, that without any sense of geologic time, it is impossible to visualize evolution as a real-time event. Darwin may have had it all wrong, and if that is a possibility, then take humanity as a whole- creating weiner dogs, recombining DNA into whatever vision we create- sounds alot like Creationism to me and less like evolution.

Science is the ability to recognize limits, boundaries, and most importantly hubris.

The short stubby legs are a mutation. In nature, this would be a deleterious mutation, and a wolf with short legs wouldn't live long enough to have children.

Obviously they can't answer that question scientifically. They have to use things like faith and sayings they learned in church that don't actually mean anything (my favorite is "it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve").

They can't actually debate this, because to not believe in evolution is to say that you don't believe in the flu vaccine (there is a new one each year because the influenza virus evolves each year).

lol. first of all, weiner dogs were bred to be fighting dogs. short with long snouts so they could get under the big dogs and get to the jugular.

second, yeah, its obvious that animals have adapted to their environments over time. Yeah, I'm a christian, but i dont think that god created animals immune to adapting. that would be kinda silly.

When I saw your question, I was hoping to see some replies from the folks who sneer at evolution. But they are afraid to come out of their churches. High five for you!!!
