Will one 37 cent stamp still do the trick?

Not enough. Check the USPS website. For large envelopes, the postage is $0.52 for a 0.5oz large envelope.

BTW, the postage for letter envelopes below 1oz is now $0.39, not $0.37.

postage is by weight and class, not size. a business envelope will go for the first class rate depending on weight.

ps: if you are still using 37 cent stamps, what century are you living in? the rate is now 39 cents for the first ounce.

Yes,postage is determined by weight.Business envelopes cost the same as a "Regular"one.Unless you have it crammed with many sheets of paper.

I live in NY and I sent a business envelope and overnighted it and it cost me 14 dollars

Well it depends on how much bigger it is and how much it weighs, but it will need .39 for the first ounce and .24 for each additional ounce.

one stamp is fine unless you have over stuffed it
