YES, and pretty soon!

Iran is working on its nuclear enrichment program so it can make an atomic bomb. The last time they had a nuclear enrichment program the Israelis bombed it out of existence, so the new plant has been built underground where it might take an atomic bomb to reach it.

Iran is under sanctions from many countries and have been since they invaded the US Embassy. So the threat of more sanctions won’t bother them too much. The only way to stop them from building atomic bombs is war. Invading a nation’s embassy is considered to be just as serious as invading the nation's home soil. The Iranians have all but, been at war with the US ever since. They see Israel as a US puppet. When the Iranians took over the US embassy they took hostages and kept them for over a year. A botched rescue mission and the hostage crisis was enough to cost Jimmy Carter the presidency and bring the Republicans into Power. So this is an important event in our history.

Iran was ruled by the dictator, the Shaw of Iran. He was one of the few allies to the US in the region so the US sold him American military equipment. The US needed an ally in the region because the Cold War was still going strong. The Communists were influencing Iraq, Syria and other nations. That's why Iraq has Russian made equipment. The Communists had promised to take over the world so this was a serious fight. The War in Korea and Vietnam were proxy wars between the Communists and the US, as was the first war in Afghanistan. So the US needed allies in the region since it was the major source of oil for the world. If the communists took over the Middle East oil reserves then they could put an embargo on the Western World causing the price of gas to go up to $5.00/gallon or more.

The Iranians tried to overthrow the Shaw and he fled to the US. The Iranian people have always considered the US to be a mortal enemy ever since. The Shaw of Iran and Sadam Hussian were both ruthless dictators, they had to be to prevent civil war. As we are learning in Iraq the Sunnis and the Shiites would like nothing better to do than to kill each other. All based on an argument over who would rule the Nations of Islam after the death of the Profit in the 600s A.D. They have hated each other ever since. Since the US supported the Shaw and he was cruel to his people the Iranians blamed the US for all the pain caused to them by their dictator. The only way to keep a lid on the civil war in Iran was to install a religious ruler, enter the Ayatollahs. Who just preached more hatred against the US. Soon after the Ayatollahs came into power the Iranians “students” took over the US embassy. One of those “students” is now the president of Iran. The US was also supporting Israel and had sold them a lot of American made Military Arms and Equipment. So the Iranians saw Israel as a puppet of the US and a major threat to Iran.

Hezbollah was founded by Iran in 1982 to fight Israel. They started a rocket campaign, like the one they held this summer. When Hezbollah first started its war with Israel the UN sent in Peacekeepers lead by the US Marines. Hezbollah's response was to drive a truck bomb into their barracks killing most of them. Israel had to invade and that led to a long and bloody civil war. As Hezbollah proved just recently they still want to attack Israel. Hezbollah has always claimed that they want to push Israel into the sea.

Israel has had nuclear weapons for at least 20 years. They are staged throughout the country so one attack won’t destroy them all, and so they can be used if Israel is attacked with nuclear weapons.

Israel defeated Egypt in the 6-Day War and then turned right around and beat Syria. So they are pretty much unbeatable in the region. Iran knows this so they won’t use their nuclear weapons on Israel. If any nation used nuclear weapons in war they would face an entire world arrayed against them, they would also invite massive retaliation, which would destroy their country.

So when Iran develops the atomic bomb they will not use it that would be suicide. Instead they will “sell” them to their puppet organization Hezbollah. Hezbollah WILL use them against Israel. They are probably already drawing up plans on how to use them. When that happens Israel will retaliate, and they might not stop with trying to wipe out Hezbollah, they may go after Iran. If that happens then the oil reserves for the entire world will be threatened. No single nation on Earth can afford to have its advanced technology rendered useless. They will HAVE to get involved and that could very well kick off WW3

Iran is developing the atomic bomb and won’t stop until they do. They won’t use them, but they will give it to their puppets; Hezbollah. Hezbollah hates Israel and will use Iran’s nuclear weapons against Israel. WHEN that happens Israel will retaliate. They could go for Hezbollah and destroy a large part of Lebanon, or they could go after Iran. With the world’s largest oil reserves at stake this could lead to WW3.

There will almost certainly be nuclear war within our lifetimes, but it won't be nearly as destructive as some doomsayers would have us believe. Most likely the war will involve tens of nukes, not thousands - and chances are it won't be in the United States.

However, I wouldn't be shocked to wake up one morning and find out that the center of Washington DC has been wiped off the map. You couldn't pay me enough to live there.
