A year and a half should be long enough to know each others' likes and dislikes. The more you have in common, including sense of humor, religious beliefs, philosophies, goals, the more compatable you are. If you are also good friends, it is a major plus because statistics show that is one of the things that keeps married people together. If you are having any doubts or second thoughts at this point, don't get married and get out of the relationship. Remember, no birth control is 100% effective, so you're taking a big chance on having a child out of wedlock at this point. If you are in love with each other, and you agree on child rearing, and have much in common, get married. Living together is not the same because without the commitment of marriage its too easy to walk out on each other when the going gets tough. There is no real commitment without marriage. Also, statistics show that people who live together before marriage have a higher divorce rate after marrying. Best of luck.

Well I day be4 u get married u need a little more time not unless u both agree 2 it and both of u are ready 2 settle down in that way. Marriage is something serious 2 think about and most ppl just rush into it and get a divorce months later. So my opinion is to at least wait until u 2 have been 2gether for 3yrs. Hey look at it this way. . u 2 live together so if u do decide 2 marry him u already know what you're marrying so once it's final dont COMPLAIN.

well I would ask how are you getting along with each other? Do you know each others goals in life? Do you agree on how many children and when you will have them? Do you agree on staying home after children or do you need to supplement the income and go back to work? Is it important that you own your home or are you ok with renting? Do you agree on who is going to do what in the household? You are playing house now so are you ready to put your incomes on paper together? Are you happy with each other? There is no time limit on how long you know a person before marriage. I think it very important that you know that person well and understand much about them before going to the next step of marriage. Wish you well.

To be honest, there is no set time. However long you are willing to wait. Whenever the time is right. If you don't want to wait much longer, make this very clear. If you set a deadline and it has not happened, then move on unless you can stay with this person without being married.

I think you should go for some pre-marital councelling and see if the 2 of you are both ready for marriage. Generally speaking, 2 years of dating should result in a proposal, with marriage within 6-8 months after that.

I'm not married yet, but when it comes time, I don't wanna wait more than maybe a year and a half or so. But that's just me. I haven't found "the one" yet though. But when I do, I'll be ready.:)

all depends on what do you want, you can wait as long as it takes, but don't wait too much. Some people say that the more time you get to know the other person is better, but you'll never stop knowing or getting to discover new things on your partner.
