music and children?

Question

what is your opion on music and violent video games when it come to your children? i have a 13 year old that listen to metal music and loves video games. Ann 11 daughter that loves rap music and pretty much whatever is playing on the radio. Where do you draw the line or do. I dont believe it makes them any different on how they act. I would rather know what they are listening and playing than them doing it behind my back. But, tell me what you think.

my son is a decent student and plays alot of sports, my daughter makes a's and b's and is involed in extra scool activities

well that really depends on your children's behavior. if they act bad/improper because of the music's influence then that's a problem.....i'm 13 and i listen to a combo of rap/gospel/r&b and im considered to be a "good girl" i make straight a's on my report card and i never got a write-up....so...umm.....yea :-)

I would say that it's a phase. I'm 18 years old and I'm a senior in high school. I was into the violent music, not so much the games, and I got over it. I'm in the top ten of my class, I've already received numerous scholarships. Your son is going to be fine, I would consider you blessed to have a son that doesn't want to be the same as every other kid in his class. Individuality is an attractive quality when applying for jobs and schools.

What goes in, WILL come out. I don't think the message most of these songs are sending is having a very good effect on today's kids. I draw the line at songs about sex, drugs, cheating on your boy/girlfriend, basically all that nasty stuff. I prefer songs that are nice, clean, and enjoyable. I don't see how anyone could enjoy rap.

well im 13 and my parents say only listen to music that dont use the f word or anything that has to do with sex. i can still listen to cuss words but the ones that dont have to do with sex.
