i have a sony viao pc and want to connect it to my surround sound, do i need a cord like an a/v cord or something more then that? i have an onkyo receiver and want to hear my music thru it.

on the back of your pc
where your spekers & mic are plug in on that sound card there is a blue ,port what you do is plug in a cable in that then take the other end to your surround sound receiver & plug it in the aux or the headphone ,part then punp up the sound and have it play live on your pc

Does your computer have an optical port? If so just connect an optical cable from your computer to your receiver. If not, it should have an auxiliary port. From the auxiliary port you would need to get an RCA to AUX cable. It's basically a red and white to auxiliary. Plug the red and white into some sort of input in your receiver and the auxiliary into the aux port in your computer.

Take a look at this wireless music system from Logitech. You just need a spare USB port. This is what I use with my Altec Lansing system. Your computer doesn't have to be in the same room as the receiver. Works great. Amazon.com has the best price.

get a sound card but with a good motherboard you don't need one then you get a special jack from you're PC to amp. you must remember to set up you're settings in the control panel also. enjoy that's a nice system don't blow it up

Use your line-out jack on the sound card with the appropriate conversion cable.

cut the wires of the speaker and twist together with the wires from the system

you need a stereo mini to RCA, go to bestbuy or circuitcity or radioshack and ask them
