Q1. Article 15 a possiblity. Advance leave could be another if he desn't have enough accrued.
Q2. If he's not married to this new woman he can be kicked out of base housing. And get him for child support to the wife if she files for divorce. That will make it known to the military folks.

Yes we can only guide our children in what we think is the right direction.

Article 15 of course, punishment depending a little on how well regarded he was in his unit. Could get hurt financially and lose a grade or two.
If he missed a movement due to illegal absence, he's toast. That's worse than AWOL.
On keeping a different woman, as long as she isn't getting benefits they probably don't even know about it. If she gets his wife's allotment, here come de judge.

Well grandpa! Focus your attention on you grandchild, your son will get caught, without any help on your part. Remember,he is doing this on the base. You could get nasty, find out who the woman is,is she married, tell her husband, etc, but your above that. It takes two. And dad, stay out of his business now, he's a big boy, old enough to be in Army, father a child. You just stay STRONG, stay out of it, and be ready to pick-up the pieces, when they fall. Be thankful your son is ALIVE, love him forever, you created him, he is the reflection of the way in which you raised him. Your children are YOUR responsibility until you die... Be a good dad, and just Love your grandchildren, don't cause any trouble, or they may never let you see them again....

Hello, most likely a article 15 write up, and a deduction in pay would be my guess, or maybe a reduction in rank even.

Most likely nothing about cheating on the wife, if the wife sues for divorce and child support, they will deduct it out of the pay before he gets his check, they are good about making him pay child suport
