Reagan cut taxes expecting (hoping) it'd all work out, did it?
Bush 1- I assume gulf war played a part in that.

As for Bush2, you can't spend 500 billion on a war and not raise taxes to pay for it. O yea, expect another 500 billion or so for Vet. benefits over the life of the vets that have been shot up and maybe 500 bill to repair/replace all the hardware that has been shot up or given to the Iraqis.

Reagan was an actor and Bush I and II lied, cheated and stole their way into office.. therefore none of them were qualified and poor management ensued. Plus the obvious that they're Republicans and like to spend spend spend NOW!

Well, it's their economic policy.
They both use the policy of deficit spending. They also believe that relieving the taxes on the wealth will trickle down to the consumer because the wealthy are the biggest spenders in our economy.

Unfortunately, most of the time, these two generalizations are not true.

Uh, well, the 'deficit' of Reagan/Bush I was reversed during the Clinton years, if temporarily.

The programs required to defeat Communism and now Terrorism require spending to defend and protect our nation from those actively engaged in toppling us.

Also, the lack of educational standards and achievement in the USA has led to a swelling of the low-skilled labor base, which relies heavily on government subsidies, programs and other indirect aid to maintain livelihood. The 'handout' mentality of government to both defense and social programs, hand in hand, have plunged our nation into debt. That, coupled with ridiculous wage and corporate tax laws has chased business out of the country, taking taxes and jobs with them.

They believe in living for the moment and letting someone else clean up afterwards. They are willing to run up the national credit card so that they can cut taxes and win votes, and let future Americans pay off that debt.

Liberals blame George Bush for the weak economy and say his tax cut has only made the economy worse. They point to jobs lost, the level of unemployment, the level of the financial markets and slow growth since he took office. The economy was beginning to turn around leading up to September 11, 2001. After the attack on September 11, everything changed. People did stop flying, hurting the airline industry, which in turn hurt hotels, restaurants, theme parks and tourism. There were some businesses that closed for an entire week and some in New York that never reopened. The financial markets were closed for more than a week and the financial services industry was devastated. September 11th hurt all sectors of the economy, which resulted in tens of thousands of layoffs. So how is George Bush is responsible for the poor economy? Liberals would have you forget that the attack on September 11th took place and we must never forget. George Bush is trying to revive the economy by lowering taxes. The irony here, the liberals who accuse him of hurting the economy oppose his tax cuts.

Poor management coupled with poor leadership qualities. Compounded by a manipulation of public opinion by the press. Reagan was a master of "blindside politics". His strategy was to get you to focus on one problem while he and his money-squandering henchmen blew our budget to triple it's size.

Republicans have to be born wealthy. As a group, politically speaking, they are the most fiscally irresponsible group we've ever had in control.

I've often told my wife, she spends money like a Republican with a surplus.

Because as soon as they got into office, they think they are
issued a limitless credit card & start spending money like a
drunken sailor.
Their recklessness will fall on future generations. Disturbing.

Oh, dear!
Well, at least the tax cuts have put people back to work and money in the pockets of us working people.
Get a job and you won't care much about that deficit.
(It's been going down, anyway.)
Makes the commies so mad.
