4,500,000,000
to work it out:
4 thousand is 4,000 (thousands have 3 noughts)
4 million is 4,000,000 (a million has 6 noughts)
so 4 billion (1000 x 4 million - add 3 more noughts) is 4,000,000,000
then just stick the 0.5 in the right place, one to the right of the 4!
This is unless you mean the old fashioned English meaning of billion (1 million x 1 million), in which case you need to add 3 more noughts. But nobody uses that any more as far as I know, that would be called a trillion now.

I think there are 2 kinds of billion the mathemetical one and the money one i will have to check this up. For now just accept the wrong answers you have been getting. Are you just about to hit 4 500 000 000 dollars. If you are let all the people in yahoo answers share it. When we all share make sure that you give more to SUBIC because, so far he is the only one who has written the correct answer.

I would forget the 'English' version of a billion 10^12 and refer to the SI (International System of Units) which refers to a billion as 10^9
i.e. 1,000,000,000 or Giga. This will avoid no end of confusion.

Depends on who and what you are doing with it.
In the US and all international business a billion is one thousand million so
4500000000
Traditional in Mathematics in the UK (not used in banking or business but purely in mathematics) one billion was a million millions so that would make it
4500000000000

The American way would be (which everyone now uses)
4,500,000,000
If you want the old English way it's
4,500,000,000,000
The old English billion being a million x million rather than the American thousand x million

4.5000,000,000.000.
A million is 6 zeros, a billion has 12 zeros. Add another 6 zeros and you are talking of a trillion. How much money do you really need?
