Yes. Remember that placing it in a casserole dish in the microwave for about half an hour will get its fur nice and fluffy again, failing which 'Skunque Chez Pepe Le Pew Aux Tomates' will make a dinner dish that will wow your neighbours. Bon appetit.

I don't know how old is too old, but a vet can remove that gland.
