Our dance is friday and right after school. We have to follow the school dress code, so nothing that shows anything. I don't want it to look too formal or be to expensive, just something most girls have in their closets. And don't give dumb answers like a thong.

If the dance is right after school, are the girls gonna just wear their outfits to school? Weird.
In a situation where you don't know exactly how formal others are gonna dress, try wearing a nice pair of black stretch slacks with a nice shirt. Look at your closet and think of what shirt looks the best on you and wear that one. Just NOT a T-shirt.
Wear some makeup, but make it real subtle. Maybe just some brown mascara and tinted chapstick. Nothing too dressy. It's way too easy to overdo it on makeup!
When all else fails, look through a teen magazine and find someone who you like the way she looks and try to immitate the look. Just don't dress like everyone else does!

Ask around to see what other peopel are wearing.
AT my 8th grade formal I wore a dress for Deb Shops. I havent really gone to the other dances, but i heard that ppl just wear jeans and a t. ask a teacher or someone who would know if it is a "formal" or not

I usually wear jeans and a really cute t-shirt and cute shoes (not high heels though!) if u wanna look a little more formal, go for a nice midlength (to the knees) skirt and blouse, along w/ wedges or other shoes. good luck!

wear what you feel more comfortable in and plz DON'T stutter when comes to you i done it and it so embarrassing but we ended up going out anyway still don't and be cool be flirty and don't dance like a monkey it is just geeky have fun i hope you find the boy your interested in

Whatever you do, DON'T wear a dress. The fanciest thing you can wear is a jersy skirt. Which is a pretty good thing to wear, if you ask me. What I wore to the last one was black gauchos. DON'T buy something. Wear what you have.

just wear a cute shirt with a cute top. and your right, it shouldnt be expensive or too formal. just wear like a glitter top with a jean skirt. that would be nice.

i'd just wear a flouncy skirt not to formal just cutsy and a cute matching top maybe flip flops if its to cold just a matching pair of shoes and good luck have fun!

a jean skirt maybe a tank top flats definatly um flat or really curly hair yep have fun cinderella without you noe have ugly step sisters and all that
