I got a radio for my 8th birthday in 1972 and the first song I heard on it was whole lotta love by Led Zeppelin , It changed my life!

They may not be a band, more of a group, but RunDMC definitely. Jam Master Jay got me into thinking about music on a level that was independent of race or genre. Got me into music as a sound and as a whole and how to listen to and understand instrumentation.
