How old is your daughter? I think punishments are focused on age too. If she is a teenager, I would ground her for a month. That would include not going out with friends, no music, no tv, no telephone! Sound harsh? Nah, I don't think so. She messed with the law. What happened with the Ipod anyway? Did she still have it and was trying to get a new one or did she lose it and became afraid to admit the truth or something else? That might have a role in the punishment as well. Don't cut her any slack. The mall was only a minor part of the punishment.

Because the police were involved, and she lied to a parent-NO POCKET MONEY-(ALLOWANCE IN AMERICA IS IT?)-FOR THE YEARS BAN AT THE MALL.Hit them where it hurts them the most,in the pocket. She can always go to a friends house to game on playstation,or other games-or go on a computer, but she wont have money.Money talks, she will not do anything like this EVER again if you stand your ground, believe me-its tough love, but its effective. In the 60s-70s,i would have got a leather belt across my a$$ for less than that.

NO! it is far too plenty! What are you from the 60's? you're in a "vs." concern the greater serious form. have you ever seen emo young little ones, depressed young little ones, or young little ones who dedicated suicide? nicely maximum of them have "vs." systems employed at homestead. This reasons power imbalances and chaos, and reasons insurrection. The greater it is denied the greater is needed. ex. a toddler is fiddling with a blanket, and his older syster takes his ball to play with, now the toddler will cry for the ball till it is lower back. Get it?!?! which you may preclude issues create a community of know-how and conversing. Ex. She stole denims, rather of taking that all of us away, attitude her and state that she would manage to no longer be punished anymore if she talks to you. If she talks seek for first to understand them to be understood. So if she says she needs new ones because of the fact her old ones are worn, then tell her that if she mentioned that for the time of the 1st place then you somewhat could have given her money for them. then you somewhat can clarify the form you experience approximately her stealing. So in end little ones choose know-how with authority. no longer one or the different the two! So attempt this earlier anymore punishment. And remember no rely how pal pal you're collectively with your little ones they'll continuously keep secrets and strategies. that's what we are reliable at.

a general grounding is good 2 weeks then released only to places you know she will be at and doing things you know she will be doing. And she should be checking in every hour so you know what she is doing.
This is a trust issue so trust will need to be built back up before you can trust her to do things on her own again.
