Well, if there were less racists then we wouldn't have this problem.The racists are the ones who give the rest of us a bad rep.I am trying to put myself in their shoes. I would be pi$$ed too.
If I were on the receiving end of racism,I would be asking the same question.

I don't find it degrading, just annoying.
I want to be judged as ME. Not as white, or black, or Portuguese, or Spanish, or anything.
I am me. I am white because I was born this way. That doesn't mean I hate anyone.
I don't hate those people for writing that, as you seem to. I feel sorry that some "white" people have led them to believe that all white people are like that.
