can I walk in boot after 6 weeks foot surgery?

I had a 5th metatarsal foot surgery and 6 weeks after surgery the podiatrist said I could walk with a walking boot. I have been trying for a week but it hurts right where the incision is. Is it supposed to hurt?

That depends on the surgery that was performed, contact the doctor that did the surgery, they know best.
