If you have a laptop, or have ever used one, do you like the touchpad better, or using a computer mouse better? I prefer the mouse, but am forced to use the touchpad because my usb port is not working.. What are advantages and disadvantages of using both? thank you.

And how do you get use to using the touch pad instead of the mouse? how do you manage online work?

Depending on exactly what you are doing on your laptop the mouse will always be dominant over the touchpad. My preference is using a mouse with the thumb roller because I do a lot of photograph work and while using adobe or psp I can be very precise. At work we utilize the touchpads but it really doesn't matter because the programs are all word processing so it isn't too inconvenient. Play with the settings on your touchpad, you can make it faster or slower, more or less sensitive... by adjusting these attributes at least it will make the touchpad more friendly while you are using it.

Touchpad takes awhile to get used to but its actually pretty nice cause you dont have an extra cord you got to plug in or using a book as a mouse pad. I used a mouse with my laptop for about a day and i didnt like it.

touchpad is better if lying in bed using laptop.
I prefer mouse because touch pad sometime f's around when typing in MS Word, and messes up the words by going back a few spaces when you touch the touchpad by mistake. So annoying...

I prefer a mouse over the touchpad on a laptop. Although they really work the same I find that the touchpads are too sensitive no matter how you tweak the settings.

i think of that yet another mouse is extra constructive, simply by fact with the touchpad, it extremely is harder to play video games. in specific situations a touchpad is going uncontrolled. With yet another mouse, you progression around quicker, it extremely is quite common to click links, and counting on what mouse it extremely is, it could have a cushty feeling on your hand. in case you purely use your computer for internet and records, then a mouse continues to be extra constructive, simply by fact with maximum of them, you are able to scroll up and down, which may be executed with some touchpads. each and every thing gets executed speedier with a mouse.

well, both are good to me.
touchpad is better to those situations where you are for example, on the bed waking up, or on the sofa, and you look to the notebook and instantly want to do something on the pc, then u will not pick the notebook with a mouse hanging, its just not handy for fast and usual using of the pc.
the mouse is better if you are on the notebook for more time, and feel that you are doing things slower because of the touchpad, or you are on a table or so... and even more if you want to play, because if you want to play anykind of game, the mouse is allways a better choise
