Were having a halloween party and we want to have costumes that go together but would rather not buy them, they can be expensive. Does anyone have any inexpensive ideas?

Go to your local thrift store and check out the clothes! You can find everything from king and queen of the disco to k&q of the rodeo!
You can get an old ladies house dress that will fit your hubby and find a grey wig put pink curlers in it, use small beach balls or water balloons to give him a saggy old lady chest! you can put them in a t-shirt and just have him tuck it in to his pants that way they will sit down on his waist! And you can dress up as an old man you can get a balding head wig for about $10, baggy polyester pants and suspenders or a wild color polyester leisure suit at the thrift store.
We have hit the thrift stores, before the regular stores, for years and usually end up with stuff for great costumes. One year my son got a 3 piece pinstripe suit for $8 and went as a gangster, his gf got a dress that looked like a flapper for $4 and we added some beaded trim and feather spent a total of $15 on her dress and they were the cuteste gangster and his moll you have ever seen! They won best costume, actually they won 2yrs in a row, and in thrift store finds!

reverse the rolls, dress him up like a woman, like in an old wedding gown from a goodwill store and a tux for the woman. My ex husband and I did it many years ago for a Halloween chili cook off. no one knew it was him cooking the chili until he started talking. it's cheep and its fun to act like the other person for a night. roll playing is also good therapy

last Halloween my hubby and i ripped some white t-shirts up and splattered them with red food colouring, my son went to the party with a stained t-shirt too and a drill! ( we were his victims!)
what i am doing this year is finding something i like from www.joke.co.uk and recreate it.

well..depending on how brave you might be..you can try an idea a girl at work was throwing aound for herself and her hubby..she is wearing a corrset and very high boots, putting a dog color around his neck and dragging him along! Otherwise..just go through your closet and in the rag bag and let your imagination fly!
