GERMANY 1-5 ENGLAND

this one has to be top of my all-time great matches, ENGLAND were 1-0 down when Carsten Jancker gave GERMANY an early lead but ENGLAND drew level thru Michael Owen soon after. Steven Gerrard gave ENGLAND a 2-1 lead just before half-time, scoring his first international goal.

it was ENGLAND all the way in the second half, when Michael Owen scored two more goal & Emile Heskey round off a remarkable victory for ENGLAND.

ENGLAND qualified as group winners that year leaving GERMANY to square off against UKRAINE in the play-off which they also qualified.

It's a toss up between two games. The first one was Villa against Spurs. I was in my early teens and it was the Spurs side that won the double. They had a great team already but were just about to sign Jimmy Greaves who I rate as the best ever striker. It was end to end stuff and there were 63,000 in the crowd. The other match was Villa against Manchester United in the second leg of a league cup match. Villa had somehow managed to get a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. The Villa were I think in the old third division at the time. United had a truly great side out including Charlton and Best. For the first half it was all United and Best scored after 11 minutes. He was superb. However in the second half Villa played well above themselves and goals from Andy Lochhead and Pat McMahon secured a 2-1 win for Villa.

Hello friend, I come from Greece and support Olympiacos. There are my most memorable matches and the reasons

Karaiskaki 2004-05
Olympiacos 1-0 Liverpool, because we played in New Karaiskaki after 10 years

Olympiacos 3 - 2 Panathinaikos when Rivaldo scored 2 goals and regained the lead (0 - 1 made it 2-1)

and

Liverpool 3 - 1 Olympiacos, important only as being the first match i watched abroad

its Argentina vs Germany in World Cup 2006.... the tense was so high during the match, especially when it had to be ended with penalty kicks. Also great to see how Kahn supported Lehmann before penalty kicks!!
