i have a friend who's home is always perfect. i was shocked one day to find out that she never folds her laundry, she just tosses it in the dresser. the past couple days i have been humoring the idea of doing the same thing myself. after all, i have 2 kids that pull all the clean clothes out and scatter them on the floor and one that mixes them all up when he is looking for something. admittedly, i am a mixer myself. so if it all just ends up in a jumble either way, should i just give up on folding and spend all that time doing something else?

come on now, stop picking on my friend, lol. she is really just a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. so it doesnt make much difference. and i would never allow the nice clothes to get wrinkly, i am passionate about hanging them. really it is just stuff like pajamas and playclothes. all the good stuff gets hung. all of it.

Personally, folded laundry matters to me but I am not folding it for kids (to mess up) it is for myself. In answer to your other question: maybe try it without folding and see how it goes, if you do not like it that way, change back. Remember though that you are helping set a good example by folding it up and starting with it organized. Hopefully as they grow older they will continue to follow the practice and keep things neat and folded because it will be beneficial to them in the long run to have organization of their clothes. Good luck!

You need to fold the clothes - otherwise you have rumpled, junky stuff you can't even find.
If the kids are scattering them all over the floor, you might consider getting one of those latches that keep them form getting into the drawers. Once they are old enough...and are still doing this, they should be old enough to re-fold everything.

wow a number of those responses have been so propose! have you ever seen being an Avon or Mary-Kay representative? They make stable money, make their own hours, and get to sell make up- very candy deal. The wash and fold seems stable, yet except you're in NYC i dont understand how helpful it will be. perhaps you're a house keeper? canines sitter? those are all greater strategies to make money on a similar time as nevertheless having relatives time :D stable luck!

God, totally. And only buy all white socks for the kids so you're not spending time trying to find the mate. When your kids grow older and stop throwing their clothes all over the floor, then they can decide if they want nicely folded clothes and do it themselves!!!

Shirts and Pants can go on a hanger the rest such as socks, t-shirts, and under-ware can be tossed in a drawer. Then use that time for something more important like asking and answering questions.

NO--YOUR CLOTHES WILL ALWAYS BE WRINKLEY OR THEN YOU WILL GET TO A POINT WHERE YOU WONT KNOW WHAT IS CLEAN OR DIRTY CUZ IT WILL ALL END UP ON THE FLOOR. STICK WITH FOLDING AND PUTTING AWAY. I HAVE THREE KIDS MYSELF AND I DO MUCH MORE LAUNDRY WHEN THINGS DONT GET FOLDED AND PUT AWAY.

Personally, I'm a folder all the way. I'd encourage you to do what is best for you. If you're comfortable with the idea of not folding - go for it!

when you take the stuff out the drier just put it directly on a hanger and you don't have to fold anything but towels... the rest can be placed in drawers or Baskets in the bottom of your closet

If you don't at least fold it and smooth it out, doesn't it look all nappy?!!! Or, does she iron everything before she puts it on. I wouldn't want my clothes thrown in the dresser drawer, they have to look like crap when you want to wear them.

Keep folding. Folded clothes take up less space and there are less wrinkles.
