The pros would be the tips--you can make good money on tips.
The biggest con for me, when I was a waitress, was putting up with the stupidest people!! But then again, I'm not a people person. If you like people it's a good job to start with.

YOU ARE SALUTED...............
Pro's....You get lots of exercise running your butt off, you get cash tips, you get to hear a lot of gossip around the coffee drinkers table, you might meet a celebrity & you get to eat free.
Con's..You have to work weekends, you can't slap the customers, your legs & feet get tired & now you can't even take a quick smoke break in the back!
You definitely have to be multi talented to do this JOB. Neither the common ordinary person, the well educated businessman, the snooty rich broad nor the georgous desirable models could just come into this job. They would totally crack under the pressure and walk out.
I SALUTE THE WAITRESSES OF THE WORLD and TO HELL WITH THE TIGHTWODS WHO DON'T TIP! HOPE YOU FIND A HAIR IN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR COFFEE CUP!

Pros...money
Cons.....service industry is HORRIBLE. You will realize what jerks Americans are. Nothing worse than customer service jobs. People are Aholes.
Good money though, depends on where you live.....if you live in the south forget it. People think servers make minimum wage.......HAHHAHA I wish.
