I've always had perfect vision, but for about the last week I haven't been able to see properly out of my right eye. It came on when I had the flu, and although my other symptoms have cleared, I still can't see properly. It also seems to get gradually worse throughout the day - what could be causing this?

Just to add, my eye look perfectly normal (through the other one anyway!) - no discharge or anything, I thought i may be getting a migraine as I have had them in the past and it's a similar disturbance - just no headache and it's been going on for longer!

I am an optician. First of all, it could be something simple like you feeling run down during your flu and any small prescription you have which is not evident normally becomes apparent. When you have flu your mmune system is compromised and you're more susceptible to other infections so you could have an infection or ulcer or some other such condition. However, if you were coughing violently during your illness you could also have popped a blood vessel in the back of your eye. I would suggest you see an optician who will be able to tell you better. Most gp's by their own admision don't know too much about the eye and they will probably send you to see an optician anyway.

We can likewise dependably do exercises. There are exercises, for example, rolling your eyeball to form an undetectable square that are constantly recommended by the doctors to improve one's vision. I don't think about rapidly as there is no quick approach to reach one's objective. Vegetarians can help to improve one's vision. I accept it in light of the fact that I am a vegetarian and my eye short-sightedness power remains the same without any increase after around 2 years. The doctor was stunned in light of the fact that teenagers at my years will normally have a most increase since we are continually staring at the TV, playing computers furthermore reading. I don't know whether it is completely true or not yet it does influence a bit on the result. At any rate i propose to check the connection that I posted.

Blurred vision can be attributed to extraocular or intraocular causes. Extra can be sometimes tour eyelid can get the cornea muddy, but it is not common and you would see it. Intraoculary, there are two possible reasons, increases aqueous humor (glaucoma) or spasm of the iris muscles. The only dangerous is glaucoma, which you are not at risk. Some types of insect bites have neurotoxic effects, which can be represented in you as blurred vision. Your ophthalmologist can asses them all quickly and thoroughly, so don't leave it for later

I had something like this, but in both eyes. I went to see the optician who sent me down to see the Doctor.

By that time, it had cleared a bit and I could see better.

Good Luck.

I put it down to an infection exacerbated by stress. Worrying, but it was not so bad in the end. Cleared up spontaneously, just as it arrived. Scared me though.

You may have picked up conjunctivitus. It is contagious and you should refrain from coming into close facial contact with other people. Consult your GP or Chemist who will precsribe a course of treatment.

you need to see a doctor...an ophthalmologist about this right away.... it could be one of many problems.....

you might be getting a retinal detachment like what happened to my husband......

you can lose the sight in your eye if you mess around with this...
