I am trying to get pregnant and lately have had heavier than usual ovulation bleeding. I'm wondering if the bleeding could make it difficult for the sperm to reach the egg or if the egg could get washed out by the bleeding??

I would think so, personally.

Bleeding during ovulation is not normal. You should have a period once a month and if you get pregnant is is possible to have some mild spotting at implantation. I have never heard of ovulation bleeding. If you are bleeding at 2 different times during the month, then I seriously suggest you contact your ob/gyn and find out what is wrong.
