find a

3a=6+9 = 15 so a=5

now put it back in 5a+2

you get 5(5)+2 = 27

2006-09-18 10:49:27 · answer #1 · answered by m s 3 · 0 0

3a -9 = 6.
Add 9 to both sides,
3a = 15.
Divide by 3:
a = 5,
so 5a +2 = 5(5) +2 = 27

3a + 9 = 6 implies a = -1, so 5a = -5 so 5a + 2 = 3.

Use removing technique: 3a+2b=7 2a+2b=9 Multiply first equation via way of adverse a million to get: -3a - 2b= -7 2a + 2b= 9 you would be able to upload those equation at a similar time now to get: -a +0b =2 => -a = 2 => a = -2 Now which you have "a" enter in a single in all your equation to resolve for "b" 3(-2) + 2b = 7 -6 + 2b = 7 => 2b = 13 => b = 13/2 Now which you have "a" and "b" hit upon the appropriate cost of 5a + 2b it incredibly is a similar component as asserting (5a + 4b/2) 5(-2) + 2(13/2) => -10 + 13 => very very final answer: 3 in case you meant (5a+4b)/2 then merely upload the two equations: 3a + 2b = 7 + 2a + 2b =9 -------------------- 5a + 4b = sixteen so (5a+4b)/2 = sixteen / 2 wherein the respond is 8

3a-9+9 = 6+9
3a = 15

So a = 5

Knowing this.

5(5) = 25+2 = 27.

Your answer is 27. Very simple algebra.

I know you can do this simple problem - try harder

3a-9=6
3a=15 add 9 to both sides ( just remember, moving a term across the = sign and change its sign.
a=5 divide both sides by 3. (remember. moving a factor across the = sign puts it down if it's up and up if it's down)
5a + 2 = 5*5+2 = 27. Now do like I say!!

a=5, 27

27. a=5.

for the first equation, if you add nine to both sides, you get 3a=15. Divide three by both sides, and you get a=5. Just plug the five in for the next one. Hope I helped. =)

3a-9=6
3a=15
a=5

therefore:

5a+2
5(5)+2
25+2
27

hope this helps!
