You can't. Every wireless computer is a radio station that anyone can hear if they want to.
You can either turn off the wireless or turn of you computer to hide it. If you concerned about security, use encryption and vpn to connect to the network.

You can't hide just your computer. The router has to know you are there or it can't route to you.
Stop stealing your neighbors wireless. Just go ask, they probably won't care.

The only way you can avoid being detected on a Wireless conection is to not connect to it.
