I thought it was a very selfish thing he did which utimatly cost the Canucks in game 7 against the flames. and face it Bertuzzi was having a crappy year anyway.
lawyer dude, the pile up broke his neck and bertuzzi can not be held responsible for being pushed to the ice by an Avs player.
Bertuzzi has already paid for his mistake
As for Moore and anyone else that wants to do a cheap shot on people with their head down. learn to take your medicine like a man. Moore should have just face the music when Brad May wanted to fight him and it would have been over with. And what was the coach of the Avs thinking when he put him out there in the 3rd when the game was already lopsided for the Avs. I think Tony Granato should take responsibility for putting him out there.

I LOVE Todd Bertuzzi!!!
He made a mistake & it took a bad turn. He's human. It was a rough play but, it's a rough sport. If the fight happens on the ice, it's part of the game. If it happens in the parking lot, it's criminal. The whole thing got blown way out of proportion. The law should have never been brought in to deal with this. I say put the 2 of them in a ring & let them duke it out. Then forget about it!

I obviously felt bad for Moore---although I've come to think of him as a bit of a jerk. I thought Bertuzzi did a really stupid thing that will haunt him for the rest of his life and throw him into the McSorley camp of players.
I was most upset that the next day my beloved NHL was all over every freaking channel for this one isolated incident as if this was an every night occurrence. Hockey players do a lot of good in their communities, the game is usually tremendously fast and exciting and physical.
It does occasionally get out of hand (as does every other sport) but all of a sudden idiots that never watched a game in their life were criticizing hockey. This made me furious and it still does. As one who watches a lot of hockey and has for 30 plus years don't comment on one minute of file footage.
The whole thing was and is a black eye on the sport, that's for sure but it is not indicative of what fans see on a nightly basis.

I thought it was a stupid play, but I'd seen worse many times before. The fact that he broke Moore's neck was just bad luck, and I don't think that was his intention. Unfortunately for Moore, it was a well-placed shot that led to an awkward landing.
Bertuzzi did his time, and he shouldn't be further punished. To be honest, I don't think he's been the same player since that incident, and it's like he's more hesitant now than he once was.

I would have ordered this: Bertuzzi must pay to Moore 50% of the money which he makes for the next 400 games Bertuzzi plays. And if Bertuzzi does not play 400 games more in his career, then Bertuzzi must pay Moore the amount of $$$ for the number of games less than 400 that Bertuzzi didn't play, multiplied for each game by the amount Moore was paid per game when Moore was playing. I say this because Bertuzzi is a more talented player than Moore was, and so Bertuzzi would make more $$$ because of that. And so, give to Moore 50% of what Bertuzzi makes. It will be a motivation for Bertuzzi to try harder - to help himself and to help the guy whose career he ended.
How I reacted was: Bertuzzi did not kill Moore but he probably killed Moore's career - intentionally. And so, let Bertuzzi pay 50% of his money for the number of games Moore would have played on the average - 50% for Bertuzzi and his family, 50% for Moore and his family because of Bertuzzi.
I am angry that the NHL did not make Bertuzzi do and pay more than what it has made him to do and pay. It isn't justice. Hockey is an emotional game - but that is absolutely no excuse for Bertuzzi, for what he did. That is wrong, it is criminal, and he must pay.
It may be that Bertuzzi did not intend to break Moore's neck. But under the law, in normal life, if you do something intentionally to someone else, but the injuries that you cause to them are much more than you intended, that is no defense. You are responsible for all of it. Because you did it intentionally.

I was and still am bothered that Todd has all the blame. Doesn't anybody else ever see that other Avalanche player coming and pushing Todd on to Steve Moore. F***! It isn't just all Todd's fault!

Get over it......
Same old boring question.......
Why not ask where does Moore got off suing Bertuzzi and the NHL......because of lost wages?
I realize he was wronged by Bertuzzi.........
But to...
A...refuse Bertuzzi's apology...
B...sue people for what you never would have made in the NHL....
He would have been a fringe player at the most......probably would have played in the AHL!
Move on people.....
I wish Bertuzzi the best in Florida...
I also wish Moore the best....
Everyone just enjoy the new NHL season!

Obviously, Bertuzzi didnt mean to break his neck. If you ask me, Bertuzzi mght not be the one who broke his neck. All those players who jumped on top did a lot more damage then most people think,
