Because, in the middle east religion is your country and government. Actually, the reality is if you are anti-Israel you are anti-zionist, not anti-semetic. It is the zionist Jews who lead Israel. There are plenty of non-zionist Jews who actually side with Lebanon and the Palestines. The zionists Jews are those who believe they have a right to Israel. The Jews actually came to the land that is now Israel back in the 1800 to "reclaim" it from the Palestinian Muslims. However, thier claim is a false one. Here is a website written by Jewish and Palestinians.

By the way, no Israel doesn't "deserve a break", they have turned into the persecutors once again. In 1948, they were given 55% of Israel by the UN, despite the fact they were only 30% of the population and only owned 7% of the land, and slowly but surely they have taken over the rest since then.

There is a big difference between anti-Israel and anti-semitism. They are correlated because anti-semitism is "bad" and people who are pro-Israel will use the word to tar their opponents.

They do indeed involve religion with politics. Israel is a Jewish state (compare this with an islamic state or aryan state and you will see why race-states are a bad thing), and has no laws protecting equal rights on the basis of religion. As a result, there are different laws for Jews and non-Jews in Israel (obviously favoring the jewish people over others). There are also demographic controls in place to protect the jewish majority so that Israel can continue to claim that it is a democratic state.., which it is, albeit a racist one.

Also, the only reason that they chose that place, of all places in the world, to clear out some land for a "jewish homeland", is religious in nature. If they had any kind of logic at all, they wouldn't have picked a place where they were surrounded by people who wanted to kill them. They would have picked the Fiji Islands or some other paradise.. not a god forsaken desert.

Judaism is not just a religion, it is also an ethnic group. Israel was created specifically for the Jewish ethnic group, and that's who lives there. If all you are do is disagree with their actions, then you're right, that is not really being anti-semitic, it just means you dissagree with them. But those who call for israel to be destroyed or wiped off the map are being anti-semitic. Israel is a jewish nation, and no, they don't separate religion and politics.

the same reason the US govt now talks about anti-americanism. governments in both countries try to get the support of their own population for internationally unpopular actions by playing "the world's against us" card, when in reality the world is against the actions of right-wing extremist governments, not the people of the country.

there is a real problem with anti-semitism, but criticising israel's racist policies should not be confused with that.

Because anti semites use it as a dodge. Jewish people overwhelmingly support the policies of Israel. Therefore, if you oppose the actions of Israel, you oppose the goals of the Jewish people.

it is a bit like saying the USA is Christian or Iraq is Muslim or India is Hindu.

Judaism has contributed a lot to our way of life and continues to do so. However, Israel is an infant country and needs to go though a gradual learning curve before it matures into an administration we can respect. This is likely to take (IMHO) at least 50 years.

Actually, they do. The central concern of Isreal is the promotion of the Jewish faith and people. But that doesn't change the fact that your point is valid. It is perfectly possible to be opposed to Isreal and not opposed to Jews themselves. It's just that most of Isreal's detractors -are- anti-semetic, and use politics as a smokescreen for their prejudice.

Israel deserves a break because their history is unique among nations, as is their status with God above. They came out of the worst persecution that any one group (ethnic or religious) has ever endured in the history of mankind, and built a nation from basically nothing to what we see in the Mideast today. Hitler (and Stalin) would have wiped them off the face of the earth if he could have, and did decimate the Jewish population of Europe during his terrible reign. No matter-there is much truth to the saying of 'the eternal Jew', and God himself is their protector and advocate, as well as racially tied to them due to the identity of Jesus Christ himself! re:

Genesis 26:4

I (God Almighty) will make your (Abraham's) descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring [a] all nations on earth will be blessed,

Because we are not stupid, we realize when you are cloaking your racism/anti-semitism with the excuse that you do not like Israel.

In America you have the constitutional right to be a racist, you do not have the right to demand that we buy your bul#shi+

P.S. I also oppose Palestine, I also have the guts to admit that the religion of peace bothers me with their non stop violence. I am also bothered by the fact that "moderate muslims" do not seem to speak out against this violence. PLEASE prove me wrong on that.

Because they have manipulated people into thinking they are anti semitic if they question Israel.
Like how Bush and Co, call people who question him, not patriotic.See the pattern.
They shouldnt have a country.Judaism is a religion not a ******* race of people.
