No worries sounds like you are thinking about taking a trip maybe to the mountains and enjoying the lake. Sounds very refreshing.

The answer to understand your dreams comes by asking yourself questions...you did not provide much information. First this is something you said you fear. So far we only know this relates to either and experience you have had or a part of your life you are afraid of....it could even be both..with dreams it is often multi-meaning in layers.
Was anyone with you? This might give you an answer. If say you say your sister was with you in the dream than it may be for example... something about your relationship with her or an aspect of yourself that is connected to your sister/family. Perhaps you are with no one..this would mean more about something in life you need to confront alone, or you feel alone about something. Just ask questions....
As you ask more questions, more of the dream will come back to you. What season was it? How did you get there in your dream, to the mountains? What do mountains mean to you? What were you wearing? Were you trying to go some where?
Did you touch the water, was it cold...were you camping, lost, looking for something, being chased, chasing something, confused, determined...???
We need more information to understand, but the key to understanding it is within you...your symbols and messages will be unique to you alone (as opposed to what a 'dream dictionary ' will suggest)
(eg. an person who climbs mountains for fun/ hobby would have a very different meaning than you would)

The mountains and the water simply represent the polarities of life. The mountains are high. The water is deep. The mountains go up. The water goes down. These polarities are like yin/yang in Asian philosophy. There is a tension between them that is healthy and necessary. Basically, your dream only shows you that you are becoming aware of some imbalance in your life.

water represents emotion and mountains are usually an obstacle or a success depending on how it is represented in the dream i dont know if you mean it was night in the dream or just scared in general . so some kind of upset over a failure or wanting to achieve a goal that has been an emotional struggle perhaps

Mountains = high authority
Beach/rivers/lakes = mystery of unknown
Night = emptiness
You may be into some sort of guilt conscience and yet you may feel emptiness at times. That may be why you are scared. You need to find something to fulfill your life.
