rap is this generations method of what poems were 100 years ago and performed with the beat or music in the back ground
good rap and bad rap are a factor in enjoying it performed or heard....good rap tells a story and is interesting....bap rap is all about the nasty minds of the rapper and the people who like it. they talk badly about women, have no respect and is stupid.....

In my opinion all songs tell a story. The difference in rap and all other types is how the story is being told. Country artist tell stories in humorous ways. Rock and metal tell stories with more emotion and depth. Pop tells a story in kiddie context...Sugar-coated. Rap tells a story with raw emotion...its kinda indescribable. Rap artist really want you to feel what they feel and place yourself in their shoes...Just the same with R&B. That's jus how I see it.

Rap is usually speaking aggressively over music. Most genres sing over music.

Don't you notice that rappers don't sing....they 'rap'.....most other songs have the lead performer actually singing with the possible exception of William Shatner.
