Perimeter = 2*length + 2*width
So 96 = 2*length + 2*width
So 48 = length+width

We also know length = 2*width

Hence, 48 = (2*width) + width
48 = 3*width
16 = width

... and since length = 2*width, length =32.

the equation for the perimeter is P=2L+2W with L being Length and W being width.

If the L=2W, the put in 2W for L into the equation. Since you know the perimeter is 96, plug it into the equation:

2(2W)+2W=96

4W+2W=96

Solve for W:
6W=96
W=16

since L=2W:
L=2(16)
L=32

The length is 32 and the width is 16

2W + 4W = 96, where W is the width. Obviously, W is 16, and L is 32.

well you need to divide that so that you get two even numbers.

so 26 and 70 would work.

then the Length and Width would be 13 and 35.

l=2w
2l+2w=96
substituting
4w+2w=96
6w=96
w=16
l=2*16=32
