Despite that fact that I am dyed-in-the-wool yellow-dog democrat, my favorite animal is the elephant. They seem to have mental and emotional capabilities lacking in lower forms. They seem to have rich and interesting lives. They understand death and mourn members who have died, even years before.
The same could be said for dolphins and killer whales.
The most interesting invertebrate is the octopus. Their mental capabilites are vastly more than people think, and they can be quite sneaky. There was a researcher who kept losing fish in another tank. Set up hidden cameras, thinking it was vandals, and saw the octopus escape its "escape proof" tank, go get the fish, then go back to it's tank, replacing the portion that it escaped through. How clever is that!

Dogs, for sure!
Preferably Shelties and Collies.
They shed to high heaven,
but their companianship can't be beat.
If it is, then the dog will get some beatings too.

My favorite animal is a chinchilla, they are cute, very soft and easy to care for. They are very docile and love attention. It is fun to watch them in their sands bath.

i love tigers, ive been fascinated with em since i was a lil kid. got one tatooed on my shoulder. When i was lil my mom called me tigger,maybe i was conditioned to like em lol. At any rate thats my fave.

Mine is parrots specifically red lored amazons. Why? because they are so colorful smart ,loyal oh and of course I own one.
