Not really. If you are looking for people to chat with then it can be entertaining, but for friends that you meet in real life it's not that great! On the internet, anyone could be anyting they imagine they are! You could "meet" a really great "girl" and "she" turns out to be a crazy axe murdering man!!

No. Internet is not a good arena to search for friends. Just for entertainment and fun, you can make friends from internet.
