My last normal period was August 6 and i think i may have gotten pregnant late august. do you count from the first day of your last period or do you count from when you think you conceived?

Most doctors start counting from the first day of your last period. so, in most cases your first two weeks of "pregnancy" are before you conceive.

your doctor will count from your last period the 1st day of your last cycle is 1 day pregnant "EVEN THOU you are not pregnant til 2 weeks later". They count that way because your period is a known date your ovulation is not so it's a basic estimate most doctor use the method of a 28 days cycle not all women have 28 days cycles. I have 31 day cycle my doc still used the 28 day estimate for all 4 of my pregnancy's due date.

The first week of prenacy is counted starting with the first day of your last period. So you are 6 weeks and 1 day along(as of today Sept 18)! Congrats!

You count backwards from the day your baby is due. The day that your baby is due subtract 7 days.
I'm due in November 14 (40 weeks). By November 7, I will be 39 weeks, etc.

Date of your period. When you have your ultrasound they can tell you a date that is going to be closer because of the size of the baby.

you would go by Aug 6th. being your last period. if you are pregnant then your due date would be: may 14th but you need a preg test to confirm pregnancy.

The best way to tell is by ultrasound. Its so hard to calculate when you actually got pregnant.
