I have never not once boiled my tap water! All of my kids( even my three year old who is special needs and is on a G tube) have had water right from the tap. If your water tastes funny, or smells funny I would have it tested, but otherwise you're good to go. I just bought a new house in the country and have well water. My water is clear as can be and tastes like bottled. My kids have no problem with it either. I do however, keep them on age appropriate flouride treatments(drops, mouth rinse,) Because it is essential to healthy teeth but not in natural well water, only city water. P.S. Calm down. Babies should be wonerfully fun, not wonderfully worrisome. Good Luck!

If the youngster does get too plenty flouride than fluorosis can take place. I even have that, im guessing from whilst i replaced right into a toddler.. Fluoride is robust for teeth, yet no longer for forming teeth. i know people who use in trouble-free terms faucet water, yet I even have continuously used bottled water because of the fact I hate the little white spots on my 2 front teeth (even however they are hardley large), I merely wouldnt my son to experience self huge unsleeping over this. I regarded up on google and that i examine on a pair websites that fluoride isn't reccommended for toddlers. yet I even have additionally seen that once 6 months it is okay? So rather, there is plenty freakin information accessible which you somewhat could do what you think of is appropriate... I mean no rely what i glance up there is often contradicting suggestions. I dont think of I even helped you = / there is likewise plenty information on how Nursery Water would be getting a ton of court docket circumstances because of the fact toddlers shouldn't have fluoride!!! they have no teeth! And yeah, my mothers and dads did no longer do something particular to the water to make it greater desirable fluoridy..they gave me faucet and that i've got been given fluorisis.

Depends on where you live (ie. quality of the water there), but I would guess that your chances are pretty good.

They suggest boiling water for the fist 12 months to remove any nasties, so even if your tap water is not of the upmost quality, boiling it should fix that anyway.

Very true, babies need flouride and that is USUALLY present in tap water, my state (Queensland, Australia) for some stupid STUPID reason doesn't have it. Maybe we're some control group in a huge national experiment!

I would say if you are worried, boil it for the first 12 months, but don't fret about it. Do you have a problem drinking it? Kids are resiliant things: they are tougher than a lot of us give them credit for.

Tap water is meant to be boiled an left to cool first. It's better than using filtered water because babys stomachs can't tolerate the softening process that filter systems use.

no it's not, unless your tap water is really nasty. If you can drink it, so can your baby. You actually want to use tap water instead of spring water b/c the baby needs the fluoride that comes from the tap. Talk to your doctor about it.

As long as it's city water, and is safe for drinking, it's fine. Don't use well water because there's no flouride in it.

When my first son was born, his pediatrician told us that we didn't have to use bottled/sterilized water at all--just start from day one using tap water. We used bottled for the first four months, then switched, and he's fine. With our second son, we gave him tap water from day one (skipped the bottled all together) and he's healthy as a horse. :)

As long as your city water is safe for drinking, it's safe for making bottle. If you're concerned, ask your baby's pediatrician. He/she would have water quality reports showing cases of lead poisoning, etc.

Well it depends, I guess. If you have well water or city water. You just need to make sure that it does NOT have lead in it and that it DOES have fluoride. Baby's need fluoride to help develop their teeth. If your water does not have fluoride you need to go to the Dr. and ask for drops to put in bottles. So you need to check on those things! :)
