All experiences are not the same. You will not feel any pain during the C-section because you will be under an anesthetic. After the C-Section your recovery may not be painful either. For some persons the scars and stitches from a vaginal delivery are a lot more painful and difficult to care for after the birth of the baby.

I had 2 emergency c-sections, and therefore never experienced a vaginal birth. With that said I still prefer a cesarean. With all of these people telling you that there are greater risks, they need to wake up and realize that there are risks of infections and death in either method of child birth. I would not recommend just picking a cesarean just to be doing it though because I don't believe that is a justified way of welcoming your new baby into the world on the day you chose. Babies come when they are ready and as long as there are no complications you should let your body and God take care of when you welcome your new bundle of joy. Oh and a woman's body is a miraculous thing, the pain won't kill you! But if you do chose a cesarean then as soon as they let you get up, WALK! Just walk and walk and walk, work out the pain, I was good about a week after giving life. Although you do have to be careful about lifting things or straining yourself because of the staples, stitches, or whatever method they use to sew you up, to keep from rupturing the incision.

A c-section is a huge serious operation. You don't want to have an operation that requires a long period for recovery unless you absolutely have to. A natural child birth is painful during the delivery, but the minute your child is delivered you feel tremendous relief, and the recovery time is very fast. You are up, and feeling great the next day. You will need stool softeners, and you'll go through a lot of femanine napkins from the bleeding, but other than that you will have a very speedy recovery and be able to enjoy and care for your baby right away. A woman's body recovers quickly, allowing us to be able to be good mommies just like nature intended. Congratulations on becoming a new mommy.

I had a c section myself so I'm the perfect person to answer this, I honestly think and I've heard that the pain you have after the c section is worse then a vaginal delivery. I didn't feel no pain while they were doing the c section but i did feel a lot of pressure when they were taking my daughter out. A c section is not as bad as the people above of me are making it out to be! I was up on my feet two days after yeah it was painful but i got threw it
so if thats what you want go for it, dont let these drama queens discourage you lol. GOOD LUCK

A C-section is MAJOR SURGERY....if you can avoid it you should. Although you won't feel the surgery you will certainly have plenty of pain afterwards. I would try for a vaginal delivery if at all possible.........and yes, pregnancy is tiring and childbirth is tiring and guess what...motherhood is tiring also. There are plenty of medications to help with pain during a vaginal delivery and you will recover so much more quickly from a vaginal birth than a C-section.

I just had a c-section 7 days ago today and I had a spinal instead of the epidural and it was wonderful. I never felt a thing except for pressure but it didn't hurt. The local hurt that they used in my back to numb me. I don't like epidurals and I will never use one again. It's a spinal for me! :-) and I will not lie to you girl c-sections hurt!! But the sooner you get outta that hospital bed and move around the better you'll feel. I just got my staples out today and I feel much much better. Normally with a c-section you have to stay in the hospital for 3 days but I was doing so well me and my baby went home the very next day. I had to sleep sitting straight up on the couch for 4 days because I couldn't get outta the bed in the middle of the night when my daughter cried it hurt to much but hey I was still comfy on the couch. My boyfriend slept right next to me and it got better. This was my 2nd c-section and it's better because I didn't have to be in pain for forever and my baby was born with a beautiful head instead of the cone head vaginal birth babies have. Good luck to ya. I would go with the c-section if I were you.

You have to weigh the options yourself. A cesarean is not without risk. You have a greater risk of infection, need of a transfusion, injury to your organs, and (I hate to say this but) you have a greater risk of death from a cesarean.
You will not feel less pain. You will have far more pain for longer afterwords. After the vaginal birth of my daughter I felt like a million bucks. I wouldn't be able to say the same if I had had a cesarean.
Don't get me wrong. C-sections can and do save lives, if used judiciously, but you wouldn't want to go through major abdominal surgery if you didn't have to.

I said the whole nine months that I wanted a c-section, thought it would be easier (pain wise) Then came the day ( I was induced) and changed my mind really quick. But after being in labor for 12 hrs my son started to go into distress so they prepped me for a c-section. OMG!! The pain after was horrible. I couldn't do anything.
I would go for vaginal delivery next time if its possible.
Good Luck!

You are going to be uncomfortable either way. My C-cection was alot easier on me and the baby, I just didn't get the bonding time in the first few hours that everyone else in my family did. Because I was in recovery. I went shopping 3 days later for new clothes. I think if you stay in shape you'll be fine either way. Call me lazy but c-cection was much easier. The spinal block made me shake, but other than that, I did not feel a thing.

The pain will be worse after a c-section than vaginally...besides the contractions are good for the baby.
