We had an on-again, off-again relationship over past 3 years. He says at this time he doesn't think it will work out, to keep emails going, to keep an open door and that I should have an open mind. What does all this mean? We had a rocky relationship but I still love him and I know he still loves me but the separation is killing me; I am soooo lonely. Can't stop thinking about him. What should I do?

I personally think that we can have multiple soul mates....but sometimes we aren't meant to be together with them, as hurtful as it may be.

I think that you should move on. Let your heart experience different emotions. It will make you appreciate different types of relationships and feelings.

You never know, with the "open door" poilcy anything can happen! Maybe you aren't meant to be together now, but give it a few years, (and I know it's difficult to see that far down the road) maybe things will change!

Best wishes!

Him trying to get you to keep things open, is a weak way of him saying NO. He doesn't want to hurt your feelings so he is giving you a little hope. What he really means is that it is over. Why people can't be straight with their feelings is crazy; he's probably scared too. What you should do is talk with him & get complete with your relationship; your relationship as a seperated couple. Then once you have that completeness, you can let go & leave it in the past, where it belongs. The truth is, you're just lonely. Find happiness in yourself & live for the moment. It sounds like it was never a stable relationship; recognize your true feelings & move forward. Your real soul mate is still out there! Good luck:)!

You have to realize he wasn't your soul mate. You only thought he was. If you guys were truly soul mates you wouldn't continue to have an on again off again relationship. The longer you waste your time with Mr. Wrong the less likely you will meet your true soul mate.

move on because i was in the same spot that you are in right now. the guy told me we be together forever. he even asked me to marry him. but we got into a fight, and now he is with another girl but yet tells me he loves me everyday. the guy is only trying to make you unhappy. so if i was you i would just move on. besides there might be someone out there that is better for you.

"Soul mate" indicate you have only one.
Thats absurd.
Seek another.
