,,,does anyone else wish that Sci Fi would pick up the series so we could get more shows? I friggin' love the show, and I hate FOX for cancelling it. Who's with me?

Sure, it would be nice - I am a big Whedon fan, with all of his television productions.

But after Fox cancelled Firefly, Joss tried to shop it to any number of networks - basically anyone who would answer his calls (which were most people). But at something like $1M/episode it was too expensive for anything but one of the premier networks, and the ratings at Fox were too low to support that level of network distribution.

For a second-tier network (and I think Sci-Fi is more of a third-tier network), production value would really have to go down - and then I don't think it would be anywhere near as good.

They can't pick up Firefly again. It's in their contract that they can't do more of the show for something like 10 years. But they can make movies. So watch Serenity and I think there is more coming.

I agree with you 100%, it would be a smart move by scifi for a really stupid move by FOX
