Women do the same thing (although not as often)...breaking up with someone is uncomfortable for the person delivering the 'fatal' news, therefore to avoid a confrontation, or argument, or so they will not feel as awkward, they tend to either outright lie, or just leave someone hanging to figure it out for themselves.
It's a crummy way to treat people...bascially, if you cannot end a relationship in a mature and honest way, then you shouldn't be in one.

This is always a hard situation to be in. There is nothing your partner could say to you that would feel nice - i am not saying it is ok for them to lie- but if your partner leaves you for waht ever reason and you don't want them too it is shitty.
Its not just men who lie about it. Also people at the time would rather hear an its not you its me reason - and then a few days later they start to think what was that load of bull£$%^£$
What you should do is go and take a kick boxing lesson ( to relieve stress - not to learn how to beat him up :-) and then you should pamper your self with a nice face mask and chocolates. Play every sad song that you have and have a good cry. THen go out on a proper girly night with your mates and start the slow process of moving on.
Pretty soon that loser will be - just somebody that you used to know - nothing more nothing less.

Cause he thinks you're a precious little flower who shouldnt get her petals ripped out quickly but instead wilt off because of all his bullshit and hiding its not just men who do it women do to- primarily i think people arent so blunt and kinda wanta try things further and conceal its an issue when they want out to protect you-but they dont realize till its too late thats just hurting the situation even more so just when people break up NO ONE wants to be the one to be the bearer of bad news ...but you know now so just release the anger and frustration and look to the future for new experiences and someone who's ready and willing enjoy yourself and hell take a vacation away from the situation go through the divorce quickly dont stress on the pity stuff its not worth it you learned a lesson and you loved another being close with that

1. If you are married, it is not called breaking up: it's called divorce. And most people understand that when someone wants a divorce they don't want to be with the other person anymore.
2. It could be for a lot of reasons, but do they really matter? The bottom line is one person does not want to be married anymore.

He doesn't want to hurt your feelings and he knows that a woman will have tons of annoying questions on why he is with the other woman. what she has that you dont and really who wants to go through that bullshitt! THAT'S WHY.

Maybe he is trying to spare your feelings. Sometimes the truth hurts.

One of two reasons, he's ashamed because he knows he's wrong for doing it, or he's just a chicken poop and doesn't have any self confidence.

The same reason why "women" won't. It is the person, not the gender.

To either protect your feelings or to keep you around...probably the first one.

coward, i guess - men hate confrontation or a weeping, hysterical woman - i tried to tell my ex nicely, but he still don't get it, so i guess it's hard for either sex.
