You may not have your outgoing server set up right..Check the settings..and make sure they are correct for outgoing, they more than likely will be different than the incoming settings..

Is this to your Yahoo account? Click Tools on Outlook Express. then accounts. Select your yahoo account. Click the servers tab Incoming should say pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk and outgoing smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk. Make sure they are right, I put smpt once and that was wrong so it wouldn't send. lol. Next: Just check on the general tab that the box is checked that says Include this account when receiving mail. But I think it is the SMTP.MAIL part you have wrong. Also make the last email account on your list the default email. If you are using wireless. Disconnect your router or switch it off wait a bit and switch back on - if you aren't using wireless disconnect from the Internet and reconnect - if you are normally "always on". Sometimes a connection problem can cause this to happen. On the advanced tab - in Outlook Express the ports are 25 and 110 and none of the boxes on that page are checked. They are checked on gmail.

Unfortunately, Outlook Express is a temperamental thing, as it refuses to recognise certain Internet servers. I have found this out myself on this very computer I am writing on. My advice is to transfer your existing e-mails from this to another e-mail account eg Yahoo Mail, then go in on Add Or Remove Programs on Control Panel and disable OE. You'll find Yahoo Mail a better medium for e-mail communications by the way.

Personally I use Outlook (bundled with MS Office), but the setups are similar, make sure you have all the correct settings.
Look at your ISP's website to get the info needed to set up email manually, then click on Tools then Accounts in Outlook Express and check your settings against the ones from the ISP's website.

Is this a new problem you are having with OE? If so, make sure your POP3 server information is correct. Not all ISP's set up their server info alike.
Also, what kind of connection do you have? Dial-up, cable, DSL, etc.? Call your internet service provider and ask them how to configure your email account.
Good luck.
