Yes you definitely need a lawyer i am going through a divorce right now that he filed for and i have no money either for a lawyer, but there is legal aid\legal services. Look in your phone book under your county and look up legal aid/services, call them and they will ask you questions regarding you present income and according to that you may be entitled to free counseling, i have qualified, my income is very low. i don't know your financial situation but call ASAP and find out if you qualify. I would and get a good one! While I personally have never been married or divorced; I have seen several people taken to the cleaners because their lawyers sucked.

Contact legal aid in your area. Some lawyers will handle your case pro bono (free) some will do it and then get the $$ from your husband,

Wherever you live at they should have public defenders. If you go to your local court house ask the circuit clerk where you can get a public defender for you divorce. Good Luck to you!

That would be a start. Make sure you get a real good one. I have been there already. I got full custody of my daughter and i get child support. Aint much but its something.
