A few years back, there was a show either on FOX or UPN where about five American families had to compete to win the ultimate prize of an island home. During the last few episodes, I remember one or two of the families constantly picking on the Black family. Next thing you know, I didn't see it any more. Does anyone know the outcome? Were the dates and times changed without me knowing? Or were the ratings so low that there was no need to continue airing the show?

The show you're talking about was on UPN, and I *do* remember that one, which was pulled after just a few episodes. It was a sort of "Survivor" with families, in some tropical setting. Each family lived in their own hut on the beach, and the African-American family woke up one day to find their porch littered with garbage.

While the show took place in a tropical island setting, the prize was money ... not a home.

Like most UPN shows, the ratings were low ... but it was canceled because of protests about the content -- specifically the treatment of the black family that you remember. I do not know if the winners were ever announced, but the contest was not decided when the show was pulled from the air.

But for the life of me I CANNOT REMEMBER THE TITLE!!! I'm doing searches trying to find it, will update if I do.

FYI: the show was not called "Welcome to the Neighborhood." That was an ABC project that was pulled before it ever hit the airwaves in which five families got to choose which of five other competing families would get to buy a home in their suburban neighborhood.

UPDATE: I found it! It was called "Under One Roof," and it aired in 2002 on UPN. Here's a link to the first UPN press release about the show, with other links where you can find more info.

No. No volume of recognition for reality television is going to injury Broadway. you're speaking approximately 2 thoroughly categories of leisure. it incredibly is like thinking if the upward thrust in NASCAR recognition will decrease the cost tag revenues for Ozzfest. the sole component hurting Broadway top now's the **** state of our financial device. human beings can't artwork, they don't look to be making as lots money and so as that they don't look to be indulging in events like going to the theater as lots.
