i have a black power cord with white ends and it says :
E52534-D AWM 20276 VW-1 80(degrees sign)c 30V JCE DVI DIGITAL SINGLE LINK

i thought it was for my computer. i have a dell flat screen monitor, and it plugs into the back, but i dont know where to put the other end. it doesnt go into the computer. i just want to know what this cord is for and how to use it if anyone knows. thanks

Sounds like this is the input cable for the monitor to use when the graphics card has a dvi port (as opposed to vga).

That's just a DVI interface cable. It's the latest Digital Video Interface specification found on some high-end video cards and monitors.

If your video card has one of those outputs in addition to the standard 15-pin VGA connector you might get slightly better performance by using it.

If your video card doesn't have one of those connectors, just set the cable aside in case you ever upgrade to one that has that connector.
