The monitor cable is plugged into your monitor and then into the back of your pc where your video card comes out. It should be the only plug on the back of your pc for which this cable fits. The plug on the back of the computer should have holes which the cable itself has pins. They will match up and then the two little screws on the side are used to suck the cable to the plug on the back of the computer.

I have enclosed a site where it shows what the dvi-d plug on the back of the computer looks like. The other end will then fit into a plug on the back of the monitor.

It is used for some monitors and some digital devices. It is recommended that if you have a blue VGA connector to use it instead.

I hope you get this working. Good luck!

DVI is digital video input. It's used to get a better picture on your monitor. If there's no socket in your graphics card for it to go then your graphics card doesnt support DVI.

Check the instruction book. If you don't have one, check on-line. If everything's working properly, unplug it from you monitor until you determine what it's purpose is.
