Fictional Story On Atifacts?

Question

I have to write a story about someone finding artifacts in the future and needed some ideas.

The artifacts I have chosen for my character to find are a pair of sun glasses, Some colorful artist pens and a bottle of pink hair die. I want this to be in the a wintery future, of a person who is quite alone but is very interested in anthropology, and uses it to keep her self occupied most of the time.

The things I am having most trouble with are setting (like were she’s going to find all these wonderful things and were/what time it’ll take place since I want it to have that wintery, lonely and bitter feel to it ) I also don't know the reason for my characters loneliness, or when she become so fascinate by anthropology.

This assignment is dew TOMORROW so I must get some ideas fast please

Maybe it is 2106. Her husband died when his space ship was hit by space junk. Our eyes have evolved to where they shade over in the sun. Art is created by thinking and the computer produces your design
She has gone to their cabin in upper Michigan. While on a walk she comes across a burned out cabin. The artefacts are in a trash pile on the property.
A pandemic wiped out the entire population of the upper pennisula and only a few brave folk ever visit there. She and her hubby were so in love they went there often. Attempts to correct Global warming has caused the northern states to have violent winter and short summers.
