Has anyone else experienced the baby 'settling' at 30 weeks? At times my son feels like a rock on my pelvic bone, did you experience this sensation? Plus is it true that babies who settle early tend to come out early?-thanks for answering

My baby dropped @ 30wks as well. After that it became very painful to move around being that his head was so far down. I wasn't concerned until I went to my next doc appt @ 33wks. My midwife said I was only 1cm dilated, but that the baby was so low that I was sure to have him no later than 2 wks! (if I continued to walk) Well, I did cut down on the walking, but once I hit 37 wks, I began to feel I might just go past due!!! My water broke @ 38wks+6days!!! My only advice would be is not to take any chances. Rest up atleast until u are 35wks. Good luck!

No. Predicting early labor isn't that easy. Babies often flip around, even when you'd think they'd be too big to find space to do it. Most people worry if the baby is head-up, but are happy if head-down, even at this early point.

It's possible. I was 28 weeks when my son "turned" into birthing position. It's normal.

Don't worry, I am 35 weeks and my baby has been in position since then too. Just because he is down there doesn't mean you will go into labor early. i know your pain is uncomfortable sit with your feet up on pillows and when you sleep, sleep with a pillow in between your legs. That has been helping me try to walk some to. Don't worry it's good that he is head down you don't have to worry about a breech baby. Good luck

My girlfriend says thats normal for some babies, esp. if its your first. Our 6 year old daughter was head down at 28 weeks. Our 6 month old sons head engaged at the start of labour, our daughter was 2 weeks early and our son was bang on time, lazy a55 ,its funny, they are all different, best of luck through the whole ordeal, its great.

Nope not true at all, my 2nd baby dropped at 28 wks. But was down low for the hole pregnancy. I had her 4 days after her due date. So don't worry just relax and if it hurts real bad just make sure you stay off your feet. Good Luck to you!

My daugher was head down at the sonogram at 19 weeks and stayed that way until the end. it doesn't mean the baby's coming early. It's just the position the baby likes the best.
