I have low testosterone levels but functioned pretty good before(for almost 57) with moderately high BP.But the doc insists on putting me on diuretics like diazide, and that, together with benicar causes ED(erectile dysfunction)Is there a BP med out there with no sexual side effcts???The doc seems to be saying "No-blood pressure control is better than being able to have sex."I'm not sure. Help.

the word pressure in blood pressure has something to do with why the ED happens. Think about it. So. would you rather have a stroke and lay there in a nursing home while someone you don't know, washes your penis and you babble becuase you can't talk cuase you had a massive stroke???

They ALL have side effects. Speak honestly with him about it. He is aware of others... ask quite frankly. or suffer the consequences. If he won't answer you directly see someone else. and be direct, ask questions. If they dont know the side effects they should not be prescribing it.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

My doctor expressed it this way, when on medication it is like a compressed coil spring, once you discontinued use the spring is unleashed and your pressure shoots up. I stop for a while out of laziness and this happened. I take it as directed nowadays. If it is an affordability issue get on a Canadian pharmacy website and find the generic version. It is very reasonably priced.
